Default "I wanna shoot my PWC" thread

I love my jetskis, but the stress of maintaining them is killin me!

Minor issues, but time consuming for workin peepulls that been fixin' em, and way overdue....

93 SL650- fuel pump.... backorder
96 SLX #1- carbs rebuilt and needed adjust but runs good
95 SLX#2- carbs rebuilt and needed adjust. Runs, but at half power (cruiser only right now). needs more tuning
95 SL750- Runs good! (knock on wood)....

Apparently 18 year old jetskis with no previous work done, and sitting for at least five years are prone to developing problems. The good news is that they are pretty sound machines and have used up way more time than money, and basically just need some TLC...

Yeah...... at 800lbs and $10,000.00 each

Can't justify selling all four to pay for one, and the cost to tune all four is under $250 so far. The labor is free-ish ...... Pretty cheap for 18yrs and no prior service. I'm just glad it's been basically all at once and not randomly needing it...

I will admit though, that EFI sounds pretty good trhis week though!

there was just a deal on Craigslist the other day - gone now -
but 2 Seadoo's and a trailer for 5 grand - wanted a quick sale and they went quick.

I scratched my head at it, but there is no water close to me to justify dropping the coin.

I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it.

I bet they make a fuel injection kit. Might have to look into that. But first, I wanna see what it's like to tinker on the carbs. I will be doing that with the 1100 here in the next 2 daays

Nopers... I try to use my toys, but have gotten bad about getting out... If they are gonna sit I try to put preservative in the gas, but my skis are two strokers... they are typically low maintainance

I'm probably gonna take em out in the next couple of weeks cuz My airman stepkid may want to get out. water might be too low for me to risk taking the boat out
